Porto de Galinhas- Recife

Port of Chickens!!! these are the photos Inga took for me- she has become my personal photographer ensuring that I have enough images that include me as I am traveling alone.. therefore am the one usually behind the camera! Here is Porto de Galinhas.. very beautiful- 1 hour from Recife in the small small state of Pernambuco. We took a small man powered boat out to some 'coral' - trust me, nothing was there resembling coral but.. all good!! was a great day! we drank water from a coconut, ate delicious pasta (no seafood on the beach for me!) and sat in silence while being hassled by a myriad of venders.. life is good haha.

Trancoso

This is Trancoso...about 40 minutes by irregular bus, along god knows which road, through back country of god knows where...
At last the sun came out
after 2 days of god for saken rain and it was an absolutely stunning HOT day.. I dont know what temperature but it was right up there.

Like Arraial D A'juda, Trancoso also sits on a bluff overlooking the ocean- as you can see on the left there. There is a Church as you can see, and in front of the church is just lovely green grass that goes forever.. lined by beautiful, colourful 1 level shops, pousadas and restaurants which tables and chairs bagging space under the big trees. Colour everywhere!

On the beach I saw these people having a great time trying to cross the water opening there. If you can see the girl on the right has something in her hands, she is selling prawns on skewers and maybe a smaller version of lobster as well- all nicely placed on banana leaves for you to buy as you sit there like a fat slob on the beach.. she offered me and I was nearly sick all over her days work...

I just noticed the sky looks completely different in all the photos.. please excuse my terrible editing HAHAHA im on holidays....

Spent only half a day there.. was very hot and tiring.. life is hard here you know... A man told me that they "work" on the beach during the day time (more like catching some rays!) and then dance the Forró at night time... poor them!

tchau for now

Arraial D'Ajuda

Hello again!

Again, lazy compact pictures but hey! im on holidays! The first great view there is from the street that im staying in as the historical city sits on a bluff. You can see nothing but trees and also a small equestrian centre where the pond thingy is..

I have pictures of me riding on the beach! Ahh was so nice!! We rode up to Lagoa Azzul.. You can see where the guy taking me is standing with the horses, that there is no water there despite it being a lake/lagoon.. he did explain but I was hardly listening.. something to do with the Japonese.. damn japonese!!! But they have great mud there.. as you can see, im half way in! Its very clean and should have jumped all in..but I had to ride the horse back..

Lastly is a picture of the historic church there in the centre.. its very small as you can see!

Unfortunately the weather hasn't been great... so no real amazing beach time.. but that's okay.

Friends

Sorry for the absolute laziness, but at last I have added some more pictures for you all. They are only pictures taken with my compact camera- so nothing fancy- but thought you all might like to see who it is im spending my time with, hence the title "friends"

Firstly, there is Pedro. We met in Vila Madalena Hostel as he had come from Rio Branco (very very far away) to take an exam here. We spent some time chatting and took a walk to the cemetery together where we saw real human bones and kittens..... was a strange day haha if you are reading this Pedro: SAUDADES!!!! :)

Next, you should all remember Mayce- she is my Brasilian sister and has taken very good care of me.. Next to us in one of the photos is Humbert (Zelito) who pushed me to the dentist, and has a beautiful family who bought me a present even though I only met them once! it was a gorgeous little elephant for good luck...

In the chair is my portuguese teachers' friend Ivan- passionate about the politics and over the moon that Dilma is now in power!

Then I have here Daniels parents- we were out having pizza for dinner. Daniels father has a habit of looking all over the place when talking with you.. so to get a photo with him looking at me was a challenge :P and Im sure they are not over the moon that Dilma is in power... hahahaha
So there you have my friends.. not all of them, but enough to satisfy you I hope. Will post soon pictures of Arraial d'ajuda!
